Terms and refunds
Last updated 16 October 2026
These terms apply when you buy an invitation from Seal & Story. Seal & Story is run by Dharmesh Mistry, a sole trader based in Bedfordshire, England. You can reach us on 07930 980525 (phone or WhatsApp) or at info@sealandstory.com.
What you are buying
A digital invitation: an animated web page for your celebration, with the guest features of the package you choose, and a private host dashboard for your guest list, replies and photos. Classic, Signature and Atelier include different features, shown on our compare page and on the booking page.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling and are shown before you pay. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
- Classic and Signature are paid in full online when you order. Your invitation is ready to set up straight away.
- Atelier starts with a request. We confirm the price with you first. A deposit (normally 50%) starts the design, and the balance is due before the invitation is sent to your guests.
- Payments are taken by Stripe or Revolut on their own secure pages. We never see or store your card details.
Cancellations and refunds
When you buy Classic or Signature, you ask us to make your invitation available straight away. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you therefore lose your 14-day right to cancel once you start using it. In practice:
- If you change your mind before you have started setting up your invitation, tell us within 14 days and we will refund you in full.
- Once you have started setting it up or published it, we can’t offer a refund, but we will always help put things right if something isn’t working.
- Atelier: if you cancel before design work starts, we refund your deposit in full. Once work has started, the deposit covers the work done and is not refundable. You can cancel before paying the balance, and nothing more is owed.
- Add-ons made by hand (such as a painted venue or an animated video) can be cancelled for a full refund until we start making them.
- If something we supply is faulty and we can’t fix it, you are entitled to a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 working days.
Your content and your guests
- You are responsible for what you add to your invitation: words, photos, music and video. Only upload photos and music you have the right to use.
- Your guests’ replies and photos are yours. We look after them for you, as described in our privacy notice.
- Please don’t use an invitation for anything unlawful, hateful or misleading. We can take down an invitation that breaks this rule.
How long it stays online
Your invitation and dashboard stay online until at least six months after your celebration. We then delete guest data, and can send you a copy of your guest list and replies before we do.
Keeping your link private
Your setup link is the key to your host dashboard. Keep it to yourself and the people helping you plan. If you think someone else has it, contact us and we will change it.
Our responsibility to you
We take care to keep your invitation working on modern phones and computers, but we can’t promise it will never be unavailable, for example during maintenance or problems with our hosting provider. If something goes wrong because of us, our responsibility is limited to the amount you paid. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
